The Liberal Party's mayoral candidate in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality, Lone Andersen, has had her wish for a political pause in energy planning fulfilled. This happened when GreenGo Energy withdrew the majority of its solar cell applications at the end of May, and thus a natural pause occurred in the city council's further work on the projects. Lone Andersen already proposed a solar cell stop during her candidacy in October, and she has since maintained that the municipality must consider the course and involve citizens in the decision-making process. This is reported by Dagbladet Ringkøbing-Skjern.
- I am not against green transition. It is important, and the path we should take. But it is very important to me that we should be able to see ourselves in the development of new energy plants. I am a rural person to the core and I am 100 percent behind the message that citizens should be able to see more advantages than disadvantages of new energy plants, and that they should get something out of them. We must listen to the citizens, says Lone Andersen.
Further work on energy projects in the municipality will only be taken up after the summer holidays. Until then, Andersen expects the Liberal Party to adopt its final policy in the area in mid-August in connection with the party's election program for the autumn municipal elections. Here, Lone Andersen will advocate for citizens to be more involved in decisions. "I would prefer that the desire (for new energy plants, ed.) comes from below," she says.
