It is an experienced man that Niras has brought in as the new head of expertise for Grid & Power Transmission. The choice has thus fallen on Preben Jørgensen, who, among other things, comes with experience from a number of management positions within the electricity and energy sector at DTU, Vattenfall, Hofor, Elkraft, DEFU (now Green Power Denmark) and DSB. In addition, he is also a civil engineer and has a PhD in electricity supply from DTU, Niras states in a press release.
- Preben Jørgensen comes from a position as director of the department of DTU Electrical Engineering and has previously been employed in industry, where he worked with complex projects within electricity transmission and distribution. We look forward to implementing his years of experience in Niras' new venture to create the green electricity grid of the future, where the transport of electricity must be smart and more sustainable, says Mads Søndergaard, Group CEO of Niras.
Preben Jørgensen will be at the forefront of establishing and building new opportunities for technical advice within electricity distribution, electricity transmission and intelligent energy systems, which will play an important role in the next many years as a result of the explosive growth in the green energy transition.
- We are in the midst of a huge expansion with renewable energy and increased electrification. This requires even more people to contribute to implementing usable solutions. With its expertise across the value chain with skilled and engaging skills, Niras can play a key role in energy transitions, says Preben Jørgensen
