Mogens Lykketoft will step down as chairman of Energinet when his term ends at the end of April. The 80-year-old former minister writes this in a press release.
Lykketoft cites his age and other responsibilities as reasons for now passing on the chairmanship.
- For me, this marks the end of almost six exciting and educational years at the heart of the effort to deliver safe, cheap and green electricity to the Danes and contribute to achieving the national climate goals, says Lykketoft.
He is pleased to have taken part in the work of future-proofing the electricity grid so that it can handle the green transition. And he is pleased about the upcoming hydrogen pipeline to Germany and the agreement on the Bornholm Energy Island, which was recently presented.
Energinet is a public company that is responsible for operating and developing the overall Danish energy grid. This means that Energinet owns and expands the high-voltage grid and the natural gas grid in Denmark.
Energinet has its head office in Erritsø near Fredericia and employs around 2,000 people.
