In order to strengthen Danish industry and promote the green transition, municipalities can now register areas that can become new industrial parks. The government has set its sights on designating five industrial parks that will ensure faster establishment of new production facilities. The Ministry of Business and Industry writes this in a press release.

The industrial parks must have the necessary infrastructure for large-scale production, so that companies can quickly get started with their investments. According to the government, rapid case processing is crucial for Denmark to remain attractive to industrial companies that might otherwise choose to locate in other countries. At the same time, industry is an important driving force for the green transition, points out Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard (M).

- Competitive Danish industry and production are crucial for the green transition. Therefore, it is good news that municipalities can now register possible areas that can become industrial parks. At the same time, growth and jobs are also an important driver for green development, so it is a clear win all around that we give industry better frameworks and opportunities, says the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities.

The designation of the industrial parks is part of the agreement on a red carpet for manufacturing companies, which the government and a broad majority in the Danish Parliament entered into in November 2024. The agreement also includes a one-stop shop that will help companies with faster approval of new production facilities.

Municipalities can register areas via an application portal from March 10 to May 15, 2025. After that, the areas will be screened by the state, and the government and the parties to the agreement are expected to make a final decision on the five industrial parks before the end of 2025.
