European Energy has recently commissioned 5 MW of new electrolysis capacity in connection with an expansion of the company's plant in Måde. With the additional capacity, the total Danish capacity now reaches 100 MW. According to Brintbranchen, this marks an important step for the rapidly growing Danish hydrogen and PtX industry.

- The fact that we have now reached 100 MW in total shows that Denmark definitely has a place in the European hydrogen elite. With our renewable energy capacities and a strong hydrogen and PtX value chain on Danish soil, we can deliver both green hydrogen and PtX fuels, knowledge and technology to our European neighbours. At a time when European independence, security of supply and competitiveness are under pressure, this is a Christmas present for all of us. says Tejs Laustsen Jensen, CEO of the Hydrogen Industry.

He points out that the milestone should be used as a starting point for further development and political action if Denmark is to realize its full hydrogen and PtX potential.

- The 100 MW is an important milestone, but there is still some way to go to realize the full hydrogen and PtX potential in Denmark. Now we must build on the foundation that the hydrogen industry has laid. It requires high ambitions and political action to ensure the necessary industrial growth that will benefit both competitiveness, the Danish economy and ultimately real energy independence, says Tejs Laustsen Jensen.
