MorGen Energy has purchased 14 hectares of land in Esbjerg with plans to build a large hydrogen production plant. If the project is realized, it could be one of the largest of its kind in Europe. This is reported by TV Syd.

The company, headquartered in Switzerland, plans to produce hydrogen from purified wastewater. The excess heat from the process will be delivered to the local district heating plant. In total, the plant is expected to create approximately 60 permanent jobs and around 700 during the plant's construction phase.

Esbjerg Municipality is working hard to attract foreign companies that deal with green energy and PtX technology. The municipality and the business organization Business Esbjerg are therefore active in preparing commercial areas and assisting investors.

- If we are ready by 2030, it will be among the largest plants in Europe, says Rasmus Bach Nielsen, who is a board member of MorGen Energy.

Business Esbjerg also emphasizes that foreign investors play a central role in the city's commercial development. According to Uffe Lundgaard, Head of Business & Invest at Business Esbjerg, the approach is to secure local plans and permits in advance and offer practical help along the way in the process.

MorGen Energy has already investigated the land and is now just waiting to find a hydrogen buyer before they can begin construction. According to the company, the future in Esbjerg may also offer further expansions.
