Electrification must be at the center if Denmark wants to maintain thousands of green jobs. This is reported by Jyllands-Posten. SF, 3F, the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Confederation of Danish Enterprise and Green Power Denmark all point out that a plan for expanding the electricity grid, more heat pumps, electric trucks and green fuels is crucial. "There is simply a need for a plan for electrification. It may not sound like a front-page story, but it is extremely important, because it will not happen by itself," says SF's political spokesperson Signe Munk.

At 3F, they propose, among other things, massive government investment in the electricity grid and expansion of the hydrogen infrastructure, so that new hydrogen factories can be established along the West Coast. "It's about jobs for our members. "It's about energy security for Denmark and Europe," emphasizes Chairman Henning Overgaard.

The business organizations support it. According to Green Power Denmark's director Kristian Jensen, the green industry can only survive if electricity consumption increases significantly.

The background is - as Finans described last week - that Denmark stands to lose up to 30,000 green jobs. An analysis from Cowi and the Danish Labour Movement's Business Council shows that investments in green transition have been halved from 83 to 36 billion DKK annually towards 2035.

This means that job prospects have also been halved: from 57,000 to 27,000 full-time jobs per year. According to the analysis, the outlook will plummet further after 2031 if the pace of electrification is not increased.
