The future of 18 of the most visited service stations along the Danish motorway network, the so-called Hoved-H-net, has now been decided following a tender by the Danish Road Directorate. Among the winners is DDC Energi, which will take over the operation of three motorway stations at Kildebjerg on Funen and Tuelsø Syd near Sorø from 1 January 2026.

The stations will offer 400 KW fast charging, fuel and service facilities as part of the Shell network, which is thus making a comeback on the E20 motorway. This is stated by DCC Energi, which operates the Shell network in Denmark.

- At the three motorway stations we are taking over, we will offer 34 charging points at the 400 KW Shell Recharge fast chargers, which we are installing as we move into the new cadastres. This significantly expands access to our charging offer for drivers, where we combine fast charging with a versatile payment solution and home chargers, says CEO of DCC Energi Daniel Andersen.

The Danish Road Directorate is responsible for updating the power conditions at the new stations, which are intended to support the increasing number of electric cars on Danish roads.

Winning locations back

Two of the locations are old acquaintances of the Shell shell, namely the former Shell service stations at Tuelsø Syd on the Vestmotorvejen and eastbound at Kildebjerg on Funen. But the Danish Road Directorate's tender also means that the Shell network will take over the motorway facility in the westbound direction at Kildebjerg.

- It goes without saying that we are extremely satisfied that we are winning three of the absolute best locations. For me, the outcome underlines the importance of the major investments we have made in developing an attractive full-service offering for drivers across fast charging, traditional fuels, a shop, and top-class food, drink and break facilities, explains Daniel Andersen.
