The energy company OK is investing over half a billion kroner in six new motorway stations and a new store concept that will provide drivers with a comprehensive offer with refueling, charging and convenience facilities.
The stations will be located at the rest areas Ejer Bavnehøj Øst and Vest, Skærup Øst, Karlslunde Øst and Vest and Tappernøje Vest. OK announced this in a press release.
The new stations will be built at rest areas where the Danish Road Directorate earlier this year tendered the operation to private players. OK won the contract and will take over the six locations in January 2026. At the same time, new OK charging stations will be put into operation at five of the stations from 1 January 2026.
- OK is strongly represented throughout Denmark with around 700 stations that all Danes know. We are very pleased that we can now also make our products for both the car and the driver even more accessible along the motorway network, says Kenneth Korsgaard, OK's market director for mobility.
The goal of the initiative is to create a modern, coherent and even stronger mobility offer for drivers on the go, regardless of whether they drive on electricity or fuel.
- We are building on a strong foundation and aim to further enhance the customer experience - both for electric drivers and for those who continue to fill up on fuel. We do this with well-thought-out solutions, new investments and strong partners, says Kenneth Korsgaard.
In addition to energy supply, the company is focusing on a new store concept where drivers can take a break in quiet surroundings and have a quality meal. The concept is already being tested today in OK's store in Ødum between Aarhus and Randers, before being rolled out at the motorway stations.
The six new stations will be taken over in January 2026 from Uno-X and Circle K, which have previously operated them. During the renovation, the stores will be temporarily closed.
