Eight Danish infrastructure projects have received a total support amount of around DKK 1.478 billion from the EU's infrastructure fund Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Of this, the Fehmarnbelt Link will receive DKK 1.188 billion in support for the further work on the construction of the submerged tunnel, the Ministry of Transport informs.

- The fact that the Fehmarnbelt Link is once again receiving support underlines the importance of the link. The tunnel is important for both Scandinavia and Central Europe, and the support funds show that there is broad agreement on the great importance of the link for the trans-European transport network - the EU's strategically most important transport infrastructure, says Minister of Transport Thomas Danielsen (V).

Among the recipients are also the Port of Fredericia, which will receive DKK 50 million for improvements and construction - including an expansion of the container terminal, and the Port of Aarhus, which will receive DKK 39.8 million for, among other things, electricity supply to certain container ships.

There were 18 Danish applications out of a total of 296. 94 applications for support for the construction of infrastructure projects on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) were approved for support. The transport network aims to strengthen the internal market by, among other things, removing bottlenecks and promoting more efficient, cross-border transport corridors.
