STEVNS: 3.5 kilometers right next to the world heritage site Stevns Klint, European Energy has plans to build wind turbines up to 300 meters high, write Zealand media.
The plans should appear in the application that the Danish company submitted to the Danish Energy Agency at the end of last week. Sjællandske Medier, including Dagbladet and Sn.dk, have seen the application, where the company seeks to start a preliminary investigation of the project.
According to the mayor of Stevns Municipality, Henning Urban Dam (S), a realization will not be without a fight, and according to the media he wants to send a clear signal
- It is the other way around and it is difficult to start a constructive dialogue when they send an application before they have contacted Stevns Municipality. If you think back to Aflandshage, there is a fairly large majority in the municipal council who are not in favor of coastal wind turbines, he tells Dagbladet.
The mayor believes that he has a majority in the municipal council behind him when he states that the municipality cannot approve such large wind turbines close to the world heritage Stevns Klint.
- I therefore want to send a clear signal that we cannot live with their project, he concludes.
