A group of citizens has reported Viborg Municipality to the police because they want to investigate whether two sections of the Criminal Code have been violated in connection with the planning of Energipark Tjele, which the city council has just sent for consultation. The project is being done together with Biocirc and Viborg Go Green, which are also included in the report. This is what Viborg Stifts Folkeblad writes.

This concerns sections 122 and 144 of the Criminal Code, which deal with offering benefits to people in public service, as well as receiving benefits while in public service without justification. The reviewers want to investigate whether the municipality has received anything in return for the energy park becoming a reality.

A citizens' group has also asked the Planning Appeals Board, the Environmental and Food Appeals Board and the Energy Appeals Board to investigate whether the requirements for the planning process, environmental assessments and citizen involvement have been met. In addition, 60 co-signatories have asked the Danish Social Appeals Board to assess whether Stine Damborg (K), Peter Juhl (K) and mayor Ulrik Wilbek (V) are incompetent in handling Energipark Tjele.

Rejects all charges

The mayor of Viborg, Ulrik Wilbek (V), rejects all the citizens' group's charges, he tells Viborg Stifts Folkeblad.

- I think that this group of citizens finds something new to attack every time things don't go the way they want. And it's also very unpleasant when you go after someone instead of the case, he tells the media.

He also points out that the issue of the disqualification of the two conservative politicians has been investigated, and that the municipality's lawyers assessed that this was not the case. They have also abstained from voting in connection with the adoption of the third stage of the energy park, so as "not to overshadow the case".
