The Planning Appeals Board has rejected a planned 95-hectare solar park in Odder Municipality, as the municipality has not investigated whether the area is a habitat for bats. The decision means that the plans must start over, which is being met with both relief and frustration. DR writes.
The decision comes after a complaint from the association Bevar Torrild og Omegn, which has pointed out that the municipality has not complied with the EU's Habitats Directive, which ensures special protection for bats. According to the association's chairwoman Henriette Toftegaard Jensen, several citizens have observed bats in the area, and previous registrations have shown over ten species near the existing wind turbines. In Odder Municipality there is disappointment with the decision.
- We will go through a new procedure with consultation responses, local plan and municipal plan supplement, and then I expect it to be adopted and go through. With the complaint, the green transition has been delayed, says CEO of the Climate and Planning Committee Kresten Bjerre (R), who is chairman of the Climate and Planning Committee in Odder Municipality.
