During the national meeting of the Danish Democrats, chairman Inger Støjberg launched a proposal to stop the government's proposed energy parks, where 24 out of 26 have so far been set to be built in Jutland. According to Støjberg, the parks are an ambition of politicians in Copenhagen, who are being dragged down by the local population. However, the mayors of four Jutland municipalities, which have offered areas for the energy parks, cannot recognize the criticism. It writes Altinget.dk.
- It is very, very populist, and it is a pity to turn this debate into a war and a contradiction between East and West. It is a task that we have to work together in Denmark, and I think, for example, that there may be a willingness in the east to pay a little to the west, because we have space for the facilities, says Thisted mayor Niels Jørgen Pedersen ( V). In the article, he receives support from his colleagues in Jammerbugt, Vesthimmerland and Holstebro.
Political spokesperson Susie Jessen for the Danish Democrats does not believe that her chairman's criticism is unfounded. She believes that "there is a difference between support from the local community and support from the municipal council". She also states that the government should do more to relax the rules so that solar cells can be more easily placed on the roofs of big cities. That is why the party has called climate minister Lars Aagaard (M) and minister for cities and rural areas Morten Dahlin (V) to a consultation on Wednesday, where the geographical distribution of the energy parks is up for debate.
