The first electricity has now been sent to the electricity grid from the newly established solar park at Kolind on Syddjurs. At the same time, the first cPPA agreements – long-term electricity agreements between companies and energy suppliers – have come into force. This is according to NRGi.
Rolltech, Molslinjen and Stark are among the companies that have entered into cPPA agreements with Mind Energy. The agreements have played a crucial role in the realization of the plant, which with its 124 hectares and expected annual production of 132,000 MWh will be the largest of its kind in East Jutland.
- With a cPPA agreement, companies document real CO2 reduction in their climate accounts and actively integrate renewable energy into their energy consumption. As the balance responsible party, it is Mind Energy's task to make reality fit together – hour by hour. This gives companies security, and it contributes to a more stable and efficient green transition,” says Mikkel Hauge Jensen, Country Director Denmark at Mind Energy.
The solar park was established by NRGi Renewables, while Mind Energy acts as balance manager and is responsible for matching production and consumption hour by hour. The agreements give companies the opportunity to integrate renewable energy directly into their energy consumption and document CO2 reduction in climate accounts.
- It is of course positive to see how more and more companies are actively choosing to support the green transition. When they commit to purchasing electricity in advance, they help make projects like this a reality, says Jakob Bundgaard, Director at NRGi Renewables.
According to NRGi Renewables, the companies' advance commitment to purchasing electricity has been crucial for the project's implementation. At Molslinjen, they are pleased that the electricity purchase is pushing the development of renewable energy.
- Our The insistence on a rapid green transition is going through a comprehensive electrification of our entire fleet. This means that we will need large amounts of green energy - and partnerships like this are a crucial opportunity to obtain that energy, says Molslinjen's CEO, Kristian Durhuus.
The official inauguration of the park will take place on September 1, 2025.
