Companies working on the green transition are crying out for qualified labor. In Denmark, DTU plays a central role in satisfying the industry's hunger for labor by educating engineers who can develop solutions to the challenges of the future.

Since 2011, Anders Bjarklev has been the rector of DTU and thus the most responsible person. He will continue in that position, as the board has decided to extend his contract. This is stated in a statement by DTU.

The board has emphasized that Anders Bjarklev has developed the university to be among Europe's leading technical universities since he took office. According to the board, DTU today has a strong profile within sustainability, digitalization, innovation and business collaboration.

- I am proud to be at the head of an institution that delivers solutions at a time when our society is challenged from several sides – by the climate crisis, the technology race and geopolitical tensions. DTU is strong today, and I look forward to continuing the development in collaboration with the board, so that we can do even more, says Anders Bjarklev, Rector of DTU.

With the extension, he will continue as Rector until 31 October 2028.
