FREDERICIA: The energy company BeGreen, which is owned by Equinor, has agreed with three landowners in Herslev in Fredericia Municipality to lease 117 hectares of land on which the company wants to build a solar park. The park will be able to supply electricity to 28,000 households, but the municipality's approval is needed for the project to become a reality, the company informed Fredericia Dagblad.
- We are currently awaiting a response from the municipality on whether it is a project we can continue working on. So for now we are in the very early stages of the process. Before we get that far, we will reach out to locals and neighbors who will live near a possible solar park, says communications manager at BeGreen, Line Lagoni.
Chairman of the technical committee in Fredericia Municipality, Christian Bro (S), states that the municipality is currently screening potential areas for renewable energy, and that they are awaiting the results of this screening before moving forward with specific projects. Therefore, BeGreen's project will not be part of the next revision of the municipal plan, the chairman predicts.
