For NIRAS, 2022 was the second year in a row with double-digit growth in both the top and bottom lines. It is therefore a very satisfied management that looks back on a year in which all parts of the business have contributed to development, growth and earnings.
2022 thus saw an increase in own production from DKK 1.9 to 2.1 billion. DKK and in revenue from DKK 2.9 to 3.5 billion. DKK. The result for the year (EBITA) has grown from DKK 132 to 149 million. DKK. The results have been delivered in a year where "significant investments have been made in market and employee development", Niras states in a press release.

Focus on green projects
Based on NIRAS' position within offshore wind and biogas, it was decided at the end of 2021, over a number of years, to invest DKK 150 million. DKK in developing competencies and solutions aimed at increased commitment to the green energy transition.
The initiative has gotten off to a good start with a number of strategic appointments, cross-cutting market development initiatives and, last but not least, a number of tasks primarily related to offshore wind, biogas, electrification and Power-to-X.
Among other things, at the turn of the year the Danish Energy Agency awarded Niras the task of studying Denmark's overall environmentally sustainable potential for wind energy.
- We want to contribute as much as possible to the green energy transition and have therefore decided to invest heavily in building expertise and capacity within green energy production, transmission and fuels, says Carsten Toft Boese.
In addition to the green industries, Niras has also won several tasks within infrastructure, including tasks in connection with the Nordhavn Tunnel, the extension of the Hillerød motorway and the West Funen Line. Here too, sustainable solutions are in focus, and this is also in demand across all of Nira's business areas.

Despite continued uncertainty about the security situation and economic developments both in Denmark and globally, we look with confidence to 2023, where Niras expects to be able to deliver on our strategic goal of continued profitable growth and development.
