The energy company DCC Energi has been looking for a new COO and has ended up hiring Christopher Mercado, who has held the position of commercial manager at Crossbridge Energy's refinery in Fredericia for the past three years. DCC Energi announced this in a statement.
At DCC Energi, Mercado will play a central role in the energy company's efforts to develop new energy solutions in line with the energy transition and secure energy supply for both private individuals, companies and public actors in Denmark.
- A world and a company I know very well, says Christopher Mercado, who will take up his new position on August 1. The area of responsibility that Mercado has now taken over became vacant when the company appointed former COO, Daniel Andersen, as CEO back in May.
In addition to recent years of experience from the Crossbridge refinery in Fredericia, where he had, among other things, DCC Energi as a customer. Han Mercado more than 15 years in various commercial and management roles at Dansk Shell.
"An opportunity that rarely comes by"
With the move to DCC Energi, Christopher Mercado enters a daily life where there are far more and diverse energy solutions on the shelves, where the customer picture is broad, and where there is a strategic focus on new solutions that contribute to the energy transition in society and among consumers.
- I have been offered an opportunity that rarely comes by in this industry. DCC Energi is a company that I know very well through close collaboration in recent years. I have also followed their ambitions for the energy transition with interest. So I am really looking forward to returning to a broadly customer-focused reality, where new forms of energy and the energy transition play a central role in the company's development, he says.
As the new COO, Christopher Mercado will be responsible for all distribution, purchasing and supply in close collaboration with the supply department at DCC Energi. Including the fuel supply to the approximately 200 Shell gas stations in Denmark, HVO and diesel supplies to municipal actors and private companies. In addition, as COO, he will also be overall responsible for DCC Energi's large customer center.
- Last but not least, I will now get even closer to the work with the green transition in the energy industry and with the end customers who need to use energy in their everyday lives, says Christopher Mercado.
