Viborg City Council has approved the plan proposal for the last part of Energipark Tjele, which is one of the state-owned energy parks. The last part in question is an energy cluster at Vinge with both solar cells, wind turbines and a biogas plant. This means that all three projects in the energy park are ready to be sent for public consultation. The municipality states this in a statement.

The energy cluster at Vinge includes 430 hectares of solar cells, 14 wind turbines and a total area of 56 hectares for energy purposes. The expected annual electricity production is 787 GWh - equivalent to the consumption of approximately 200,000 Danish households. The project will both ensure local supply and contribute to the green transition at a national level. In addition to the energy cluster at Vinge, Energipark Tjele also consists of a solar cell plant at Kvorning and wind turbines and solar cell plants at Sjørring. In total, Energipark Tjele will extend over 783 hectares.

- We are looking at an energy system that will require far more electricity than today. If the project at Vinge and the entire Energy Park Tjele is realized, Viborg Municipality can not only become self-sufficient - we can also actively contribute to the green transition on a national level. It is good for the climate, for security of supply and for Viborg Municipality as a whole, says Ulrik Wilbek (V), mayor of Viborg Municipality.

The plan proposal for the energy cluster at Vinge is in consultation from week 23 until August 15.
