A new collaboration between the Japanese group Sumitomo Corporation and the Danish Skovgaard Energy is to make Denmark the center for the development and production of sustainable aviation fuel. The production will be located in Idomlund near Holstebro and will draw on several Danish energy technologies.  This is what Dagbladet Holstebro Struer writes.

The plan is that hydrogen from PtX, electricity from Klimapark Nordvestjylland and biogas from Maabjerg Biogas will be combined in Energy Hub Holstebro. Here, the sustainable aviation fuel, also known as SAF, will be produced for use in aviation.

- This project demonstrates how we can integrate renewable energy with industry and the transport sector. SAF plays a central role in reducing aviation's CO? footprint, and we see Energy Hub Holstebro as a global reference point for this development, says Pat A Han, technical director at Skovgaard Energy.

As part of the agreement, the joint company North Sky A/S will be established, which will be based in Northwest Jutland. The company will invest, among other things, in Maabjerg Biogas and in the hydrogen project at Energy Hub Holstebro. The goal is to refine local green energy and create jobs in the area.
