The East Jutland energy and fiber group Aura has, through its investment arm, Aura Ventures, invested in the AI company Ento, which specializes in energy optimization of buildings. Aura announced this in a press release.
According to the International Energy Agency, the operation of buildings accounts for 26 percent of global energy-related CO2 emissions and 30 percent of global final energy consumption. Ento uses advanced algorithms to analyze large amounts of data from buildings and identify irregularities that can lead to energy savings and waste reduction.
Ento has data from over 30,000 buildings and collaborates with both private and public actors, including Salling Group, Normal and 30 municipalities in Denmark, Italy and England.
- We have followed Ento for a long time and have great respect for their team. We see great potential in the company. They originate from the local area, have documented results and with their focus on energy optimization, Ento is an important part of the green transition. Furthermore, the timing is good, and they fit well into our strategic investment portfolio within green transition and digitalization, says Carsten Höegh Christiansen, CEO of Aura.
Aura is the largest and only new external investor in the current investment round, which also includes capital from Ento's founders and existing investors.
- We are very pleased that AURA has joined. They fit well into our portfolio of investors, and there are not many in our investor circle who are in the energy market. This will certainly increase our opportunities to invest in new markets. At the same time, we experience a shared ambition to create large scale over time, says Henrik Brink, CEO and one of the three founders of Ento.
Ento now wants to scale up its presence across several markets and pursue a global growth strategy.
- We have a global ambition, and with the capital increase we can initiate a scale-up of the markets. But we also know that the engine for growth is investing in our customers, creating good cases and good references, says Henrik Brink.
In addition to AURA and the three founders, the investor circle in Ento includes the venture funds Voyager Ventures, by Founders, Footprint Firm, as well as private investors such as Tommy Ahlers, Nicolaj Reffstrup, Ditte Lysgaard and Lasse Espeholt.
