Dennis Jul Pedersen, Port Director of Esbjerg, has been elected to the organization's Special Management Committee at WindEurope's general meeting in Brussels on June 25. This is announced by the Port of Esbjerg.
WindEurope is the European industry organization for wind energy, and as a member of the committee, Dennis Jul Pedersen will have the opportunity to work for better conditions for offshore wind projects and port infrastructure throughout Europe.
- Ports are central hubs that tie the entire wind industry together. With my election to WindEurope's Special Management Committee, the 35 European wind ports have gained a representative who will work to ensure the best possible conditions - both for the ports and for the entire industry, says Dennis Jul Pedersen, CEO of the Port of Esbjerg.
The ports play a key role in setting up offshore wind and are responsible for the logistics from storage to installation at sea. But the pressure on capacity is increasing as both turbines and ships become larger. Therefore, work must be done on better coordination between the countries and strategic investments in the infrastructure, so that Europe's goals for offshore wind can be realized, says Dennis Jul Pedersen.
- This requires strategic planning and targeted investments in the port infrastructure throughout Europe, which are the prerequisite for us to achieve Europe's great ambitions. I look forward to working purposefully for this in WindEurope and building on the great work that is already being done, says the port director.
