Ukraine has restricted the use of electricity on Tuesday after a Russian air strike on the country's energy supply. This was stated by Ukraine's Energy Minister, Herman Halushchenko, according to the Reuters news agency.

- The enemy has attacked our gas infrastructure during the night, the Energy Minister says according to Reuters and concludes:

- This morning our energy sector is under continued attack.

The restriction on the use of electricity is to prevent possible consequences, it continues. It is not mentioned where in the country the Russian attack took place. During the night of Tuesday, Ukrainian attacks have also been carried out against military targets inside Russia.

The governor of the southern Saratov region, Roman Busargin, says in a post on Telegram that Ukrainian drones have caused damage to an industrial site in Saratov. A Ukrainian official told Reuters that it was an oil refinery that supplies the Russian army with oil.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russia shot down 40 Ukrainian drones on Tuesday night. 18 of the drones were shot down in the Saratov region. It has been almost three years since Russia invaded Ukraine. It happened on February 24, 2022. Russia's justification for invading the neighboring country was that Ukraine should be "denazified". Russia also believed that the population of two pro-Russian provinces in the Donbas region should be protected from genocide. It is not known exactly how many people have been killed in the war.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to stop the war. On Monday evening, Trump announced that he will soon send a special delegation to Ukraine. More specifically, it concerns Keith Kellogg, who is the US special envoy for Russia and Ukraine. No date has yet been set for the visit.
