The number of electric vans in Denmark has increased by 68 percent in the past year, according to new figures from Statistics Denmark. The green shift is exciting for the trade organization TEKNIQ, which organizes companies in the technical business community. TEKNIQ writes this in a press release.
- We are excited that the green car fleet is getting into gear - and that more people in the business community are switching to electric vans. It is a concrete and visible contribution to the green transition and a signal that the industry is taking responsibility,
says Nicolai Siegumfeldt, deputy director of TEKNIQ.
However, the organization sees challenges that can slow down development.
- Unfortunately, we are experiencing that the framework conditions are lagging behind. Lack of charging infrastructure and uncertainty about future taxes can make companies hesitate. It is important that politicians ensure clear and stable frameworks if we are to seriously accelerate the switch from petrol and diesel vans to electric vans, says Nicolai Siegumfeldt.
From 2026, it has been politically decided that the tax on electric vans will increase by 8 percentage points annually towards 2030. At the same time, the basic deduction will be adjusted.
If the green transition is to be widely successful, the effort must reach beyond the big cities, says TEKNIQ.
- The green transition must not become a big-city solution. We must ensure that small and medium-sized companies throughout Denmark can also participate, otherwise we risk losing momentum, says Nicolai Siegumfeldt.
