The Danish Energy Agency will have a new director, and Kristoffer Böttzauw will step down at the end of September after ten years on the board of the agency, the past 7 years as director.

- I have a great deal of respect for the Danish Energy Agency, for my colleagues and not least for the core tasks that the Danish Energy Agency was created to solve. That is why it has been 10 good years, in which the Danish Energy Agency has developed enormously as the green transition and energy policy have become a central part of Danes' everyday lives, says Kristoffer Böttzauw.

One of his last tasks in the agency will thus be to adapt the organization, where every seventh employee is facing dismissal.

- We have spent this week adapting the agency to the future economic framework. It has been important for me to leave the Danish Energy Agency with a plan for how the agency will carry out its tasks, says Kristoffer Böttzauw.

Becomes CEO of Andel

However, he is not leaving the energy industry. As of October 1, he will become the new distribution and regulation director at Andel. He replaces Knud Pedersen, who has chosen to retire. Böttzauw will also become the new chairman of the board of directors of the grid companies Cerius and Radius and the operating company Nexel, Andel informs.

- The Danish electricity grid is not just cables in the ground - it is the backbone of our society and the heart of the climate fight. With Andel's solid skills and timely investments, we are helping to ensure that Denmark is electrified and receives more renewable energy with continued high security of supply. It is a task that we take very seriously. With Kristoffer Böttzauw, we get a leader with strong skills, deep insight and a solid value perspective who is ideally suited to drive the task forward, says Jesper Hjulmand, Group CEO at Andel.

At Andel, Kristoffer Böttzauw will be responsible for leading the development of the electricity grid into the next phase of the green transition. In 2025 alone, Andel will invest three billion DKK in replacing existing facilities and strengthening the electricity grid through the grid companies Cerius and Radius.

- This is a socially important task on the front line of the climate fight, which I look forward to taking on together with talented colleagues at Nexel, Cerius and Radius. We must significantly expand the electricity grid and at the same time make it more flexible and digital, so that it can handle increasing consumption, fluctuating green production and an increased need for robustness, says Kristoffer Böttzauw.
