Customers in Eastern Denmark can now gain insight into how long it takes to be connected to the electricity grid. The grid companies Cerius-Radius have become the first to publish data on connection times for different types of customer connections. The companies announced this in a statement.

The goal is to give customers a more realistic expectation of how long their connection process will take. The publication is based on recommendations from the national energy crisis team NEKST.

- A lot of customers want to connect to the electricity grid, and it is important to have clear expectations. These figures for our connection times can hopefully give customers an idea of how long their connection process will typically take, so that they can take it into account in their considerations and planning, says Agga Hjortkjær, functional manager at Cerius-Radius.

Data shows that more than 95 percent of small cases – e.g. newly built houses – are resolved within 15 working days if no new electricity network is to be built. Connection of medium-sized projects such as fast charging stations occurs in almost half of the cases within six months of signing the agreement. Cerius-Radius' data according to the new industry model has been collected from April 1 this year and covers the second quarter. During this period, there has not been sufficient data for the larger connections, but it is Cerius-Radius' ambition to also publish data for these cases as soon as possible.

- This is a first step in telling the outside world about our execution. This data will be an important tool for us going forward, both in terms of seeing the effect of our improvement initiatives and in communicating if there are circumstances that pull us in the other direction, says Agga Hjortkjær.

Cerius-Radius will update the figures continuously in the future.
