ODSHERRED: Odsherred Municipality is considering leaving the joint municipal waste and energy company Argo so as not to stand in the way of a CO2 capture project that will recycle CO2 from flue gases. This is what the municipality's mayor, Karina Vincentz (Nyt Odsherred) says to Sjællandske Nyheder.

- There is no doubt that it is a good project and an important project, but it is new technology and an uncertain economy, as we see it, she tells the media, which is why Odsherred will not stand in the way of the other eight municipalities being able to proceed with the project. Since there must be unanimity among everyone to proceed with the project, a withdrawal from the company is a necessity.

The reason why Odsherred will not participate must largely be found in their uncertain economy, especially after a previous case in Odsherred Forsyning. The mayor says that there are currently no politicians in Odsherred who want to start a new, risky project. Argos' CO2 capture project costs around 1-2 billion kroner and depends on state support from the CCS pool. The eight other municipalities in the company are Greve, Holbæk, Kalundborg, Køge, Lejre, Roskilde, Solrød and Stevns.
