After nine years as Head of Global Corporate Communication for Ørsted, Martin Barlebo must now find something new to do. He has resigned from his position at the Danish energy company. He announced this in a post on his LinkedIn profile.

This is probably a dismissal, as according to Barlebo's own post on "the company wants someone else to lead its communications", which he states as the reason for his departure from the energy company. Martin Barlebo himself describes his time at Ørsted as "an extremely exciting time, both professionally and personally".

"I have communicated Ørsted's transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. The divestment of oil, gas and the Danish customer business. One of the largest stock market listings in Europe at the time. A strategically important name change from DONG Energy to Ørsted, etc.", he writes,

He also highlights that during his time the company has experienced a significant boost in reputation among the Danes. This has happened despite the fact that there has also been a need for a lot of crisis communication, including with cases such as the capital injection from Goldman Sachs, the heated debates about Russian gas, large write-downs, a sharply falling share price.

"I think we have communicated good and bad news in an open, honest and objective manner, and I am very proud of our efforts", he writes.

Martin Barlebo is not yet sure what the future holds, and he is not closing any doors.

"It could be in a similar company position or as an external consultant in Denmark or abroad. We'll see," says the now former Ørsted communications manager.
