Vestas CEO Henrik Andersen is once again criticizing Danish tax rules after previously making his mark in the wealth tax debate. This time, it is the so-called researcher tax scheme that is receiving criticism from the CEO. The scheme allows foreign key employees to pay a gross tax of approximately 32 percent for up to seven years, but according to Andersen, this time limit is insufficient. This is reported by Jyllands-Posten.
- We need both Danish and global top talents. But we cannot use the fact that they can only be available for seven years, and then they have to leave as soon as possible, said Henrik Andersen at Vestas' general meeting, which was held this week.
According to the CEO, companies risk losing key employees when the tax benefits expire. He points to, among other things, a foreign sales director at Vestas who will soon reach the limit of the scheme, and whose future is therefore uncertain. The criticism comes in continuation of Henrik Andersen's warning during the election campaign against the Social Democrats' proposal for a wealth tax of 0.5 percent on wealth over 25 million kroner. At the time, he said that he would leave Denmark if the tax was introduced, and that it could have an impact on the company's investments.
