SVENDBORG: The prospect of a 350 million kroon. expensive district heating expansion in Svendborg Municipality has moved closer. In the Technical and Environmental Committee, Svendborg Fjernvarme's project proposal was approved in any case, writes Fyens Stiftstidende. This means that the municipality must provide a guarantee for the 350 million kroon. if the finance committee and the municipal council approve it.
- It is of course a big decision to make. I have great understanding for that. But now I sit on the board myself, and that's why I feel confident that we're on the right track, says committee chairman Jesper Kiel (EL).
The expansion includes, among other things, a 25 MW heat pump, an electric boiler, a large heat accumulation tank, new transformer and transmission lines, as well as renovation of the waste incineration. The purpose is to make district heating greener and enable an expansion to more parts of Svendborg.
