AARHUS: The geothermal heating plant in Aarhus, which according to the parties will be the EU's largest, entered its third test phase on Friday, according to the geothermal company Innargi. The first test well was drilled at the Port of Aarhus, and the second well in the test phase has just been completed in Skejby.

In close collaboration with the utility company Kredsløb, Innargi is developing a geothermal project that will supply 20 percent of the district heating to Aarhus residents by 2030 by harvesting the heat from the geothermal water in the ground and transferring it to the district heating network.

According to Innargi, the drilling process has gone well, and both reservoir temperature and water production meet expectations. The third well will also be drilled in Skejby, and then a plant with heat exchangers and heat pumps will be built, from which heat will be supplied to Kredsløb's district heating network, probably from the autumn of 2025.
