
has constituted a new board, with two new members joining, while the chairmanship continues unchanged. Michael Lundgaard Thomsen, CEO of Aalborg Portland, has been re-elected as chairman, and the mayor of Hjørring Municipality, Søren Smalbro, continues as deputy chairman.
In the coming years, the board will work on stable operations, financial responsibility and the realization of the port expansion, the Port of Hirtshals informs in a press release.
The board consists of four business profiles, three local politicians and an employee representative. The new board was presented on January 19 and will continue the latest development with increased activity and focus on future investments in the port.
The new members of the board are Mai-Britt Beith, member of Hjørring City Council and 2nd Deputy Mayor, and Professor Michael S. Dahl from Aalborg University Business School, who with their respective competencies will be involved in the further work on the development of the Port of Hirtshals.
- It is the board's task, together with the port's management, to ensure timely and financially responsible implementation of the expansion. We must strengthen the organization to ensure growth without compromising the results created in daily operations, says Michael Lundgaard Thomsen.
