The bidders for the pool for CO2 capture and storage (CCS pool) 28.7 billion. support kroner have dropped from one to one and on Tuesday the bidding deadline for the pool's funds was about to expire. But that will not be the case after all.
The Danish Energy Agency thus informs in a press release that it has decided to postpone the deadline for submitting final offers for the pool. The new deadline will be February 4, 2026 instead of the originally set date of January 27.
"The Danish Energy Agency has received a number of questions and a request from a potential bidder to postpone the deadline for the CCS pool. The request must be seen, among other things, in light of the fact that the Danish Energy Agency updated the tender documents last week. The Danish Energy Agency has chosen to grant the request," the release says.
The board does not state which bidder has asked the questions, but it is likely that it is Aalborg Portland, as the company is the only one of a total of ten prequalified bidders who has not announced that they are withdrawing from the tender. On the contrary, the company has confirmed that it intends to bid for the support funds.
This is not the first time that the board has postponed the bid deadline. The original deadline was December 17, 2025, but was initially postponed on the grounds that a bill was being considered in the Danish Parliament to clarify the rules for energy taxation of the CO2 capture process.
The schedule for the actual award of contracts, despite another postponement, will not be changed and is still expected to take place in April 2026.
