UPDATED: Gert Vinther Jørgensen is the new Group CEO of Norlys. He replaces Niels Duedahl, who is moving to Danish Crown, where he will be the new CEO of the slaughterhouse and food giant as of September 2. As Group CFO, Gert Vinther Jørgensen has worked alongside Niels Duedahl for the past 11 years, and together they have led the way in creating the country's largest integrated energy and telecommunications group.

In Niels Duedahl's 15 years as CEO, the company has grown from approximately 300 employees in the then SE to more than 4,500 employees today. And it is with some sadness that Niels Duedahl says goodbye to Norlys.

- A few times in life you get an offer that is so exciting that you simply have to say yes. Danish Crown is facing a radical transformation, which I am proud to be allowed to lead. It is with sadness that I say goodbye to Norlys, but I know that Norlys is in safe hands with Gert and his team. Norlys is an organization with a lot of management power and an incredible number of competent employees, says Niels Duedahl.

A unanimous board has appointed the successor

Gert Vinther has been CFO of Norlys since 2013, before that he held the same position. Since he has already been involved in the Norlys group's overall strategy, the direction will not change, says the incoming CEO.

- The strategy for Norlys is at the same time very simple and very ambitious: We must succeed in creating an integrated and profitable end-customer business in Norlys A/S, we must continue to invest massively in the infrastructure that enables digitalization and green transition, and then it is an absolute prerequisite that we must deliver the value creation that we have promised our owners, says Gert Vinther Jørgensen. says Gert Vinther Jørgensen.

The board of directors of Norlys a.m.b.a. has unanimously chosen Gert Vinther Jørgensen as the new Group CEO.

- Gert is the obvious replacement. I have no doubt that he will be an absolutely fantastic director with his great integrity, execution power and strong leadership. At the same time, on behalf of the board of directors, our board of representatives and our 800,000 cooperative members, I would like to extend a huge thank you to Niels. He leaves behind a strong foundation that Gert and the rest of the management team can build on, says Jens Erik Platz, chairman of the board of directors of Norlys.

Together with Norlys' board of directors, he will consider in the near future what the overall management of Norlys Group should look like, but otherwise the organization is fixed.
