The Villum Foundation is allocating 50 million DKK to vocational schools that will develop greener education and strengthen students' skills in sustainability and green transition. This is the third time the foundation has awarded funds for this purpose, which in recent years has received a total of almost 100 million DKK. This is stated by the Villum Foundation in a press release.

The funds will, among other things, go towards the development of new teaching courses and special green lines in vocational education. According to the foundation, there is increasing demand for green skills across industries. This applies, among other things, to electrification, energy efficiency, new materials and digitalization, where skilled workers play a central role.

- Vocational education is a cornerstone of the green transition, because they must deliver skilled workers who can translate green knowledge into concrete solutions. We would like to support vocational schools in providing students with the knowledge and skills that are in demand and that are absolutely necessary for the green transition, says Ole Laursen, Head of Distribution at the Villum Foundation.

With the new pool, vocational schools will have the opportunity to adapt their teaching to the demands that both companies and society make in the green transition. At the same time, the effort will help make the education more relevant and motivating for young people.
