The Eastern Danish grid companies Cerius-Radius and their joint operating company Nexel have just entered into purchase agreements for 54 power transformers, which will be used in the grid companies' largest substations. The new transformers will be supplied by BTB Transformers Ltd., based in the UK, and ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC for Electrical Products S.A.E., headquartered in Egypt. The transformers have a total value of more than 300 million DKK. Cerius-Radius writes in a press release.
- We are experiencing growth in demand for electrification, and we must constantly ensure that the electricity grid follows the development in the green transition, so that we can meet the needs of customers. When we expand, replace existing transformers and purchase for future projects, it is to gear our network for the future and help reduce the waiting time for new customers who want to connect to the electricity grid, says Frederik Dalgård Andersen, Planning Manager at Cerius-Radius.
- We see a market where electrification is booming, so there is naturally a need for good suppliers. That is why we are pleased to have two professional partners who will deliver and install these new transformers over the coming years, says Tomas Christensen, Function Manager at Nexel.
The first power transformers will be delivered to the Eastern Danish electricity grid at the beginning of 2025, and the last ones will be delivered in 2026.
