Port Esbjerg is Denmark’s leading offshore energy port and the world’s largest base port for offshore wind. The port has handled over 27.5 GW of offshore wind capacity from projects including Horns Rev I & II, Butendiek, Northwind, Sandbank, Dantysk, Humber Gateway, and Westermost Rough. For more than 50 years, Port Esbjerg has also served the offshore oil and gas industry, providing thousands of skilled employees and a network of service providers for installation, maintenance, rig repair, and decommissioning. Today, more than 200 companies operate in the port area with over 10,000 employees, covering a wide range of services across the offshore energy sector.
Port Esbjerg is fully prepared for the future of offshore energy. Its fairway has been deepened to accommodate larger vessels, and Østhavnen is being expanded to increase capacity and flexibility. The first Combined Supply & Service (CSS) Terminal in Europe provides efficient and adaptable logistics solutions for complex offshore operations.
The newly established Port Esbjerg Innovation Hub supports sustainable, efficient, and adaptable operations, enhancing flexibility and strengthening its capacity to manage both current and next-generation offshore projects. With modern infrastructure, extensive experience, and strategic investments, Port Esbjerg enables companies to meet today’s demands while positioning itself as a hub for the future of offshore energy.
