In February, Mogens Lykketoft announced that he intended to step down as chairman of Energinet when his term of office ends at the end of April. The 80-year-old former minister cited his age and other commitments as reasons for handing over the chairmanship.
Since then, however, as is well known, there have been elections. And the somewhat unclear speech from the election may well also have an impact on Lykketoft's retirement as chairman of Energinet. This is reported by Energy Supply.
Because it will be a new government that will appoint a new board of directors for Energinet. And since it is highly doubtful whether such a position will be in place before May 1, when Lykketoft intends to step down,
Mogens Lykketoft is, however, ready to continue for a short transitional period if the political process drags on.
- It has been two years since I decided that the most recent appointment as chairman would be my last term, as I turned 80 in January. But if it is practically necessary, I can continue in the role for a few weeks longer, says the outgoing chairman of Energinet.
