European Energy A/S has completed a merger of its German companies AEZ Dienstleistungs-GmbH from Teuchern and European Energy Deutschland GmbH from Hamburg. The merger marks an important milestone and brings together two experienced players to further promote the green transition in Germany, according to a statement from the energy company.
AEZ, also known as Alternative Energiezentrum, has been a pioneer in wind energy in eastern Germany since its founding in 1996. The company has been led by Claudia Schilling until now. Since 2019, AEZ has been part of the European Energy group. European Energy Deutschland was established in 2020 in Hamburg and has been led by Timo Siebels.
After the merger, the company will continue under the name "European Energy Deutschland GmbH" and will be led by the three directors Timo Siebels, Claudia Schilling and Johannes Thon. European Energy Deutschland GmbH now has offices in Hamburg, Teuchern, Markkleeberg (Leipzig), Potsdam and Wiesbaden. The number of employees increases from almost 50 to 80 as a result of the merger.
- The merger of the two companies is a significant step. It enables us to strengthen our commitment to wind, solar energy, large battery storage systems and, in the long term, also green hydrogen. Our goal is to actively promote the green transition in Germany, says Claudia Schilling, CEO of European Energy Deutschland GmbH.
