TØNDER: Tønder Municipality has decided to hold referendums on, among other things, wind turbine projects. But according to Klimamonitor, Anette Abildgaard Larsen (K) wants to put the votes on hold until after the municipal elections in November. She believes that it should be up to the next city council, rather than the current municipal council, to decide whether the more than 73 wind turbine and solar cell projects should continue from the planning phase.
- It's not about us being against the green transition, but it should be done with reason and consideration. The newly elected city council should have the opportunity to take a position and work in the new political field, she tells Jydske Vestkysten.
- I admit that it is not without problems to send so many projects to local referendums. But I note that it is a unanimous climate, growth and development committee that is behind the decision. Regardless, it is not something that binds the upcoming municipal council. And perhaps the world will also look completely different after the election on November 18, says Mayor Jørgen Popp Petersen (Slesvigsk Parti).
