When the town hall bells rang and 2024 became 2025, the craftsmen's deduction was reintroduced. The new green craftsmen's deduction is targeted at green energy improvements to Danes' homes and also includes solar cells.
This enables Danes to get a deduction for the wages of craftsmen when, for example, they install solar cells on their homes or holiday homes. The carrot comes from the Danish Solar Cell Association, which calls it a helping hand to the Danes. The association hopes it can push the spread of solar cells.
- It is great that the craftsmen's deduction focuses on green investments such as the establishment of solar cells. We know that solar cells are one of the most popular energy improvements among Danes, and therefore the craftsmen's deduction can help push the expansion of solar power. This is important in the green transition and for the safety of all of us, so that we can become independent of Russian gas, says Flemming V. Kristensen, chairman of the Danish Solar Cell Association, in a press release.
The green craftsman deduction only applies to craftsman hours and has a limit of DKK 8,600 per person (2025 level). The deduction is personal and can be used by a maximum of two adults in the household (up to DKK 17,200 in deduction per household). DKK 300 million has been allocated in 2025 for the green craftsman deduction.
