The Aarsleff Group, which operates within infrastructure, climate adaptation, environment, energy and construction, will say goodbye to a cultural icon at the end of January when Ebbe Malte Iversen steps down as Chairman of the Group.

Ebbe Malte Iversen has been with the company for 50 years, after joining the company in 1975. Since then, he has held roles as a cost accountant, department engineer, director and then CEO. In 2020, he was asked to take on the role of Chairman of the Board, a position he is now leaving. This means that he no longer has a role in the company, but he will retain a board seat in the Aarsleff Foundation.

- My work has also been my hobby – and I have been incredibly privileged. But now I am 73 and still have some ambitions that I would like to realize – especially in relation to my family – and some board assignments. So the time is right for me, and it is right for Aarsleff, says Ebbe Malte Iversen himself about his resignation.

The outgoing chairman of the board started at Aarsleff's then office on Lokesvej in Aarhus, where the business primarily operated as a subcontractor for local master bricklayers. Ebbe Malte Iversen estimates that the company delivered a turnover of approximately 50 million. DKK annually. Today he is leaving a company with a turnover of more than 21 billion. DKK.

- At Aarsleff, we have been good at entering into project collaborations that we could learn from. This applies to our customers and partners as well as to countless consortia and joint ventures. And we have been good at identifying the areas within the industry, says Ebbe Malte Iversen.

The company has expanded

He draws a common thread from Aarsleff's commitment to the establishment of Danish coal ports and natural gas works for future Power2X plants, offshore wind farms and green energy. Interest in the construction industry does not disappear with the decision to step down. On the other hand, Ebbe Malte Iversen prefers to refrain from giving good advice to his successor.

- I want the company to become even better at what it already knows, and that it continues to develop both in breadth and depth. Aarsleff can do something that is needed. The employees themselves have contributed to creating a front-wheel-drive, enterprising organization and building a healthy economy, he says.

Ebbe Malte Iversen's successor as chairman will be Jørgen Dencker Wisborg. Jørgen Dencker Wisborg, who is 62 years old, has been Vice Chairman since joining the Aarsleff Board of Directors in January 2022.
