Falck launches the Corporate Preparedness Plan on Monday, which is intended to strengthen Danish crisis preparedness. This will be done by mobilizing the resources available in over 200,000 Danish companies.

- Danish companies are a gigantic muscle with two million employees and enormous resources, but this great muscle only works if we are organized and coordinated, so that we know our role in a crisis situation, says Jakob Riis, CEO of Falck, in a press release.

The launch of the Corporate Preparedness Plan will take place on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at a nursing home in the Aarhus suburb of Viby J. The Danish Emergency Management Agency recommended in June that Danes should be ready for an emergency situation where they should be able to cope for three days.

Falck already talked about the idea of creating a corporate preparedness plan this summer, and about a month ago Salling Group became the first member of the plan. From the beginning, Falck has worked together with the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and the Danish Business Association to ensure that the new initiative is widely anchored in the business community.

- Private companies have expertise in everything from supply, transport and logistics, cybersecurity and the production of food, energy and medicine.

- It is obvious that the great muscle power is taken into account when we have to prepare ourselves for crises, whether they are climate events or outright security threats, says CEO DI Lars Sandahl Sørensen in the press release.

Brian Mikkelsen, CEO of the Confederation of Danish Enterprise, adds:

- We encourage as many people as possible to want to help take care of Denmark.

The company preparedness must identify which resources the individual member companies possess, and the preparedness must then be ready to work based on any crisis situation that may arise.

The preparedness must initially be able to be deployed and help in places such as nursing homes, hospices and residential areas, where there are several people together who may have difficulty preparing to be self-sufficient for three days.

Business preparedness should be seen as a supplement to public preparedness.

Minister of Community Safety and Preparedness Torsten Schack Pedersen (V) says in a written comment:

- Involving business and civil society is also one of the topics that I imagine could be included in a future new preparedness agreement.
