Earlier this year, Copenhagen Atomics was linked to a citizens' summit in Stuttgart, where both vaccine opponents, climate skeptics and right-wing radicals participated. Now the company is distancing itself from the event and has had its name removed as a sponsor.  This is reported by JP.dk.

– Copenhagen Atomics is an apolitical organization and does not wish to support or be associated with any political direction. Our purpose is to develop technology and bring it to market with the aim of making energy significantly cheaper in the future, says Tobias Ravn Thomsen, business development associate at Copenhagen Atomics, who adds that the participation was solely linked to one of the company's investors.

Copenhagen Atomics was originally listed as a sponsor of the meeting, but the company emphasizes that there was neither financial support nor further insight into the content of the event. According to Tobias Ravn Thomsen, the company contacted the organizers as soon as they became aware of the controversial nature of the event to have its name removed from the material.

The new chairman of the Citizens' Summit, Oliver Gorus, claims that his meeting gives a voice to citizens who feel overlooked by the German parliament and government. He believes the criticism is unjustified and directed at the event's attempts to discuss alternative solutions.

Copenhagen Atomics is also known for lobbying politicians and those in power in Denmark. The company is working to remove a 1985 law that limits the development of nuclear power in the country, and has been active in putting nuclear power on the political agenda.
